Membership:
All women who are members of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church shall be included, as well as any who choose to participate in Presbyterian Women. You are invited to become part of PW and take part in fellowship, Bible study, devotion, prayer, service to our church and others, and just plain JOY.  Come to a Circle and see for yourself.  We would love to have you. PW Coordinating Team will meet on Thursday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bible Study Sunday School Room. Child care is available at no charge for Circle meetings. Please call Vice Moderator, Lynne DeVault at 626-3568 several days in advance and let her know you need this service.

SFPC PW is sponsoring the Alternative Gift Fair on Friday, November 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Call Judy Persons (251-246-9736) if you can help set up, work a booth or take down and pack up.

Calling all cooks. We need your help in making casseroles, soups, baking cakes, pies, breads, cookies, etc. that can be frozen. You can bring them already frozen or fresh. We will be selling casseroles and soups that can be frozen, cakes, pies, cookies, or other wonderful desserts. The recipe does not have to be in our cookbook. If it is in the cookbook, please put the name of the recipe and the page number on your dish. If it is not in the cookbook, please attach a copy of the recipe. If it is a casserole or soup, please put directions for heating/cooking. Put soups in quart containers and casseroles in 8 x 8 or 9 x13 pans. Please bring your donation(s) on Thursday, November 15th. The proceeds will go to Ecumenical Ministries.

Mark your calendars now for the Annual Advent Event to commemorate the season of Advent on Sunday, December 1st in the Fellowship Hall following the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service. PW will furnish baked ham, rolls, and tea. Please bring your favorite holiday side dish or dessert to share and enjoy a special meal together. After lunch, we will all join in "Hanging the Greens" in the Fellowship Hall and Chapel and letting the children decorate the tree in the Fellowship Hall. At the same time, we will decorate the tree in the Narthex, hang wreaths, etc. in the Sanctuary.

The joint Circle Christmas Program and Luncheon will be Thursday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Westminster Village. Jenny Chatman from the Presbytery will teach the lesson. We will also enjoy a delicious lunch and some special music. Invite a friend or neighbor.

Our PW will be participating in several mission projects this holiday season. We will collect gifts for Ecumenical Ministries Christmas Sharing Program for the elderly, and collect toys for the Ecumenical Ministries Gift Program for children. These toys will be collected at the Joint Circle Meeting on December 12 at Westminster Village.

Monthly Bible Study

The are three opportunities to participate in our Circles.
Circle #1 meets on the second Thursday of the month at 10am.
Circle #2 meets on the second Thursday of the month at 2pm at West Minister Village.
And the Evening Circle meet on the second Tuesday at 6:30pm.

The Circle, the Heart of PW
Morning Circles meet on the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. We have 2 Morning Circles: one that meets at member’s homes or at the church, the other meets at Westminster Village in Spanish Fort. The Evening Circle meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall or member’s homes.

Yearly Activities of PW

  • Collect offerings for the PW wide scholarship fund.
  • Place rosebuds and Cradle Crosses in the Sanctuary in honor of the birth and baptism of a child.
  • Prepare a meal for the church staff during Pastor Appreciation Month.
  • Take flowers and food to the sick and shut-ins.
  • Take flowers to the PW ladies in the hospital.
  • Sponsor the Alternative Gift Fair
  • Decorate the church at Christmas and Easter (funded by selling poinsettias and Easter lilies.)
  • Participate in a toy drive for Ecumenical Ministries, collect Christmas gifts for needy seniors and patients at Searcy Hospital.
  • Prepare receptions or meals following Memorial Services.
  • Help the youth fund raise for their trips by preparing baked goods for Trick or Trunk.
  • Prepare and mail Valentine boxes to college students.
